Ingredients:
- 2oz Walnuts
- 2 1/4 oz white sugar
- 3 1/4 oz all purpose flour, sifted
- 3 oz unsalted butter, sliced
Topping
- 1 oz unsalted butter
- 3 oz water
- 1 oz unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- icing sugar
Direction:
- Preheat oven to 350F. Grease 8x8 baking tin.
- Grind walnuts with a little sugar in a food processor or blender.
- Combine ground walnuts with the remaining sugar and butter with your fingertips until it forms course breadcrumbs.
- Pat the walnut mixture into the baking tin in an equal layer and bake for 25 minutes.
- Meanwhile, melt the butter with the water. Whisk in cocoa powder and sugar. Remove from the heat and add vanilla.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes and beat in the eggs.
- Pour into the baked walnut mixture and bake for 20 minutes.
- Let it cool and then slice into bars. Dust with icing sugar.
